You know there are all kinds of victories out there. Tonight some where from high school ball to the pro’s someone will celebrate their team winning. Maybe today some one climbed on the scales and celebrated at Sweet Frogs, because they had lost some weight. Maybe some celebrated that today they made it all day without taking a drink or using some drug to give them a false high. Some went to the doctor and left celebrating because the test was negative and they don’t have cancer, or maybe it was positive and in 9 months a surprise will come.
I wonder today how many of us who are children of the most high God celebrated our salvation through Jesus Christ? 1 Corinthians 15:57, “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Have we offered thanks today for the victory we have through Jesus. I love the old song, ‘Victory in Jesus.’ The chorus goes, “O Victory in Jesus, my Savior forever, He sought me and bo’t me with His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory, beneath the cleansing flood.” Jesus loved me enough to die for me 2,000 plus years, so I could really have victory through the work He did on the cross. Jesus died in my place for my sins. The Bible says that all have sin, and fallen short of the glory of God. Our sins would keep us from winning, but Jesus gave us the victory.
There is no victory outside of a relationship with Jesus. All other victory from this world or yourself is only temporary. Do you have victory over the wrath that is to come? Do you know that your sins have been forgiven, and do you have peace about where you will spend eternity?
If you know Jesus as Savior and Lord, let me remind you that you are on the winning team. The victory is already yours today. Celebrate today!
